In Rhythm Through Prayer Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6-7 ESV Why Pray? • Communication is the key to relationship In Rhythm with Scripture All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV Why Study the Bible? • Reveals God’s character and will. • Provides wisdom for life’s challenges. • Encourages spiritual growth and transformation. Methods for Scripture Reading: • Devotional reading: • Inductive study: observation, interpretation, and application. • Memorization: hiding God’s Word in our hearts. In Rhythm Through Fasting And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. Matthew 6:16-18 ESV Why Fast? • Heightens spiritual sensitivity. • Encourages dependence on God. • Creates space for prayer and reflection. In Rhythm By Journaling I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your wonders of old. I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds. Why Journal? • Clarifies thoughts and feelings. • Records God’s faithfulness and revelations. • Enhances gratitude and mindfulness in prayer. Rhythms keep us in step with God. Discussion 1.
