THE GIFT OF GOLD—JESUS IS KING Christmas Eve 2024 I. The Symbolism of Gold On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Matthew 2:11 NIV • The Wise Men acknowledged Jesus not just as a child but as a King deserving honor. II. Jesus as the Promised King For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 NIV • His kingship brings peace, justice, and eternal life to those who follow Him. III. The King Who Deserves Our Worship The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign forever and ever. Revelation 11:15 NIV • Worship is more than bowing; it involves surrendering our lives to Him. IV. How Can We Present Our “Gold” to Jesus Today? So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV • Gold represents the best of what we have—our time, talents, and treasures.
