ANSWERING THE CALL TO EVANGELIZE Living The Gospel Everyday – Part 8 03/02.2025 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. Romans 10:14-17 ESV The Need for Faith How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? Romans 10:14a ESV Without faith it is impossible to please Him. Hebrews 11:6 ESV The Necessity of the Message And how are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard? Romans 10:14b ESV The gospel… is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. Romans 1:16 ESV The Role of the Messenger And how are they to hear without someone preaching? Romans 10:14c ESV Go therefore and make disciples of all nations. Matthew 28:19 ESV • We are not just called to believe the Gospel but to proclaim it. The Commissioning of Every Believer And how are they to preach unless they are sent? Romans 10:15 ESV As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you. John 20:21 ESV The Power of God’s Word Faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. Romans 10:17 ESV • The Gospel is not just information—it is God’s transforming power. The word of God is living and active. Hebrews 4:12 ESV Call to Action 1. Ask God to Open Doors to Share His Message Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ. Colossians 4:2-3 ESV 2. Be Ready to Share Your Faith with Clarity Always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect. 1 Peter 3:15 ESV How to Prepare Your Testimony: - Before Christ – What was your life like before you truly followed Jesus? - How You Met Christ – What led you to salvation? What Scripture impacted you? - After Christ – How has your life changed? What has Jesus done in you? 3. Trust in the Power of the Gospel, Not Your Own Words For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. Romans 1:16 ESV The Gospel itself has power—it is not about how well we speak, but about God's truth. 4. Invite Someone to Study Go therefore and make disciples of all nations. Matthew 28:19 ESV 5. Step Out in Faith – Who Will You Share the Gospel With This Week? Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. James 1:22 ESV It’s not your job to save people, just to share the message. Talk About It 1. Who in my life has not heard the Gospel clearly? 2. Am I actively looking for opportunities to share my faith? 3. Do I truly believe that evangelism is my responsibility, not just for pastors? 4. How can I overcome fear or hesitation in sharing my faith? 5. What specific step will I take this week to tell someone about Jesus?
