ROLE and PURPOSE Ambassadors to Earth - Week 1 1/28/2024 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 2 Cor. 5:18-20 ESV Ministry of Reconciliation - καταλλαγή (katallagé) restoration of favor, peace, adjustment of a difference Ambassador - πρεσβεύω (presbeuó) to be an ambassador, authorized to speak as Gods emissary Key Truths from Scripture: 1) No longer a citizen of this planet - Belong to God (Eph. 2:19 NLT) 2) The World is controlled by Satan - Set against God (1 John 5:19 NLT) 3) Jesus’ is no longer here (Acts 1:9 NLT) 4) We gave Jesus our lives - We are His hands and feet (Gal. 2:20) NLT 5) Jesus sent us out into the world (Matt. 28:19-20 NLT) 6) Filled us with the Holy Spirit so we can overcome (John 14:16 NLT) 7) The Father appointed us a ROLE - Ambassador 8) The Father Gave us a specific mission - Ministry of Reconciliation Implications Represent God, His Family, and everything He stands for - In All I Do (Col. 3:17 NLT) Stand up for His plan, purpose, and will (Romans 1:16 NLT) Convey the Truth about Him and His Kingdom (2 Timothy 2:15 ESV) Will meet opposition that hates me and wants me dead (John 16:33 NIV) This is now the guiding factor in my life (1 Cor. 10:31 NLT) It’s a you (singular) role and mission and also a ya’ll role and mission (Matt. 9:37-38 NLT) The King has called you and the Holy Spirit qualifies you - will you serve?
